As we approach the busy holiday season I wanted to send a quick update on Fusion Ministries and share a brief perspective on where we are and what is ahead for us in the coming months! I hope you find this personal note encouraging. May the Lord bless and encourage you in these important days!
On November 11, during a 9:00am class at International House of Prayer University (IHOPU), the Holy Spirit moved in their midst with physical healings, deliverance, and a spirit of joy. That class continued for more than 15 hours. The word spread quickly, and nearly 2,000 people spontaneously gathered in the auditorium from all over the Kansas City area, as deliverance and physical healings increased. Recognizing that the Spirit was moving, the leadership of IHOPU canceled all classes for the next few days so that we could gather to receive all that the Spirit wanted to do.
What started during the student chapel is continuing today! Every Wednesday through Saturday night from 6 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. thousands of people fill the IHOP-U building hungry to touch God's presence. Because the meetings are live on our webstream, 10,000 people every day from163 nations are joining and participating with us! There are already many reports of God's presence breaking in on college campuses, houses of prayer and churches as the revival sends waves of refreshing and hope!
Nothing gives credence to a move of God like spontaneous, first-hand, impassioned and verifiable testimonies. A few of the many testimonies include-
Hearing impairment healed...numbers of ears popping open
Back mobility restored...literally cracking and popping...instant pain relief
Sight impairment healed... don't need glasses anymore
Eating disorders and residual organ dysfunction healed
Tumors dissolved and disappeared
A young woman, largely bedridden with serious sclerosis and migraine headaches was healed
ALL kinds of emotional healing and breakthroughs accompanied with tears of joy
Testimonies of people watching these meetings all over the world and are experiencing salvation and healings while viewing the web broadcasts.
It remains to be seen what all God will do in the days ahead as the meetings continue for an indefinite period of time. If you are interested in viewing the evening meetings, go to www.ihop.org and click on "live webcast". You can also view archived meetings and testimonies!
For me personally, I have longed and waited for 20 years to be in a revival atmosphere again! Hence the writing of my book "Desperate for His Presence"! During that time I have been contending for revival in our dry and barren land for 2 decades. There is no way to describe the joy of joining friends encountering the manifest presence of God together! My heart was refreshed in an extreme measure last Friday night and in meetings since then. The Lord washed away years of weariness and restored the joy of my salvation, the hope of my destiny and secured my heart again in love - tangible, manifest love!
We don't realize the impact of the spiritual barrenness in our nation without the presence of God. We live under such oppression, depression, dullness and lethargy. But ONE MOMENT in His presence brings SUCH LIFE! SUCH HOPE! I feel like a totally new person - we are changed in His presence!
In January Fusion Ministries will begin our 10th year of ministry. After the initial shock of that realization (where does time go??) I started reflecting on the past decade. Who we become in the present season is always formed how we journeyed through the previous season. Our trials and wounds either become places of tenderness, compassion and maturity or bitterness, defensiveness and pain which disqualify us for Kingdom ministry.
On one hand the last decade of ministry for us has been filled with many challenges, disappointment, trials and mixed with days of confusion and doubt and sprinkled with moments of fear and unbelief. Probably much like your own life and ministry! The good news is God loves us in our weakness and always offers hope to redeem the "mess" into a trophy of His glory and goodness!
As we have been ministering in dozens of communities bringing hope and revelation of God's heart for transforming revival, the Lord has been teaching us, helping us understand the obstacles and keys to preparing the western world for transforming revival. He has given us critical tools like our books ("Desperate for His Presence" and "The Fire of God's Presence") the "Divine Experiment" and the "Call to Purity" and leadership consultations and conferences which provide much needed vision and teaching which has empowered the church to consecrate herself to the Lord. We have seen tremendous fruit over the last number of years!
God has also been testing and proving our faith, maturing our character, killing our pride and ambition and increasing our dependence upon His life and presence in us and in the ministry. I have a strong conviction that the past decade has all been preparation for the season that is immediately ahead of us! We are at a critical threshold of transition into a new season! We have been uniquely prepared for this moment to respond to the hope arising in the church in our nation that revival is not only an important matter to God but it is imminent for those who prepare themselves to host His transforming presence in their lives, congregations and communities.
When we began 2009 our team began praying "Lord prepare us!" That has been our fervent cry for the past 11 months. We sensed revival was at hand and we wanted to be ready in every way. Yet, this year has been the most difficult of my life having endured 9 retinal reattachment surgeries and all the confusion, pain, recovery and impact on the ministry that caused. Who knew how God would prepare us? We would never choose trial and suffering but nothing gets us where we need to go in our hearts like fire. In the end the Lord has used it all to transform my heart and life and yes He has been preparing us, maybe not in the way we expected (externally) but He has changed and prepared us (internally).
I never would have imagined that at the end of such an intense year of battle we would find ourselves in such an amazing time of revival refreshing! What a joy! Even though we sensed His coming you just can't quite imagine how wonderful a visitation is until you are in it!
As we end 2009 we are in a period of transition out of the intense season of battle behind us and into a faith-filled preparation ahead of us in the next year. Here are a couple of the most significant developments for the first couple months of 2010:
The Release of our new book "Transforming Revival"!
What felt like endless delays in the release of our book has actually been the perfect timing of the Lord! Wes and I are finishing our book and it will be printed early next year - on the heels of the breakthrough of revival and in the midst of the ripples and on-going move of God stirring hearts in our nation for transforming revival! God is so good! This is a powerful book and will give not only the historic progression of revival God has used throughout history to prepare the church for fullness but also the contemporary move of God in the 21st century so we can participate in making our own history in our own generation! The book also brings a solid Biblical theology as the foundation for transforming revival and presents a clear picture of revival's critical role in the culmination of redemptive history!
Renewed Call to Consecration
The Lord has been speaking to us about the critical component of consecrating the church in a community as the first step in preparing for transforming revival. As you may know the "Divine Experiment" has been a powerful tool the Lord has used in dozens of communities now both here in the U.S. and in Scandinavia. This winter we are seeing a deeper level of preparation and a higher level of expectation of several communities preparing to go through in January and February. If there was ever a time to focus on preparing ourselves for God's presence it's now, He is drawing near. My sense is the call to consecration will increase in intensity and ministry focus in 2010 - further preparing communities for the transforming presence and power of God!
New Generation for Transformation!
We will begin to build our young adult team to help communities prepare for and go through the transformation process. Steve Freeman, our Fusion Ministries leader in Indianapolis has been mentoring dozens of young adults, preparing them for this next step. In addition, there are numbers of young adults here at the IHOP missions base that desire to be involved when we launch our formal mentoring & training institute next Fall. The Healing the Land team in Fiji who have seen the transformation of 200 communities already will be partnering with us in preparing our young adults to impact our nation in transforming revival!
Serving IHOP-U with a New Class!
Over the years Wes and I have taught several classes at IHOP-U on revival and transformation as adjunct professors and served the missions base through seminars and summits, etc. In January, Wes will teach a class on church history and revival in the Biblical Studies department. We are very excited for the opportunity to serve IHOP-U and for Wes to enjoy again in this class teaching and discipling young adults in the subject of God's word and revival!

Consider sowing vision for transformation into your friends, family and congregation! Gather in small groups, watch and pray for God to give you His heart for your community in a fresh way! Prepare for the coming year with faith! As a result of the 9 eye surgeries, the 18 weeks of recovery, restriction on travel, reading and writing we had an extremely tough year financially to say the least! By God's grace, the faithfulness of our supporters and the faith and determination of our team to prevail in tough times, we have persevered! We rarely had to cut our salaries and we have been able to pay most of our bills on time, etc. a testimony of God's provision and kindness!
As we approach the end of the year however we have a significant shortfall of $4,000 to make our budget for December and pay several bills that have accumulated during the past several months. Would you consider sowing a one-time gift into Fusion Ministries in December to help us? Or would you consider partnering with Fusion Ministries in 2010 as we launch into this exciting new season of transforming revival preparation in our nation?
Thank you for standing with us this year, only the Lord can reveal to your heart how much your support has meant to our team and how strategic you have been in keep Fusion Ministries functioning in such a difficult time. You have directly sown into bringing the message of transforming revival to our nation!
All contributions are tax deductible. You can make a contribution on the website under "Support" or make checks payable to Fusion Ministries and mail to: 721 Main Street, Suite 105, Grandview, MO 64030 www.fusionministry.com
The Lord is near, let's make the most of the day and establish a culture of God's presence in our nation in the midst of the increasing darkness and depravity. The Light of God's glory will shine brightly through His church as we are transformed into His likeness.
For His Glory!
