Transformed Villages
While visiting a transformed village you feel the impact of the Kingdom of God not just in the deep sense of peace and tangible presence of God but also in measurable fruit of the Kingdom. Reports from around the nation in these transformed villages are abundant: Barren families for 10-20 years are now having children (some at 50 years of age), once low-yield fruit trees are now producing fruit 12 months out of the year, fish that have been absent for 50 years are plentiful (Hosea 3), in addition to the ecological wonders, entire villages have committed their hearts to Jesus, the national government is working alongside a unified church and reconciliation is taking place on many levels. And the joy…indescribable joy and thanksgiving flows out of the hearts of believers and washes over you like a sweet river from heaven (Isaiah 35)
NATALEIRA
The villagers became desperate to be delivered from the onslaught of the enemy in their families. After the arrival of a “gift” of 2 stone idols which were set in the gates of the village life became very oppressive and dark. Young people became rebellious, crops were destroyed by maurading wild pigs, fear gripped the community at night as strange voice were heard, people turned to witchcraft, adultery was committed and the fabric of the village families was beginning to unwind.

The “final straw” was the suicide of a young man. That had not happened before in Nataleira. The people gathered together in their grief and asked a very important
question: “why does this happen in our village”. They sought help from the Healing the Land team but even before the team arrived the whole village called a 2 week fast and prayer time together. When the team arrived they continued the transformation process with the entire village, meeting every day and night. When they had completed the process they committed their village to the Lordship of Jesus, everybody committed their hearts to the Lord and then they invited Jesus to come and dwell in their village - that it would become His habitation. Chief Vuniani was in the village helping lead them through the process and he prophesied something to them. He said when the Lord returns to you He will come to you as fire. The Lord did exactly that!
The next day as the mother of the young man who committed suicide was walking along the beach with her sister-in-law she looked out over the water and saw a pillar of fire coming down out of heaven with flames all around and it ignited the water around it (Isaiah 64). She immediately began to rejoice and thank the Lord for sending His presence to the village! The next day the fire came again, not for a second, not in a vision but the fire remained over the water for several minutes and a number of people witnessed the fire fall from heaven.

The next day when the women went out to fish, the fish were restored, fish they hadn’t seen in 50 years! And not a couple of fish – thousands. So many they had to dry them and feed other villages! The women villagers testify that fish can now be caught in abundance from the sea.

The wild pigs that were destroying their crops disappeared, families were restored, crops were growing and the joy of the Lord is tangible.
The village recently celebrated its second anniversary of when God came in fire and brought healing to their
families and village. Every Wednesday the entire village prays, fasts and worships the Lord together. Their bright smiles reflect the goodness of the Lord - not as a dim memory but a daily source of life and fellowship.
They have erected a large white cross and commemorative stone declaring that the village belongs to Jesus Indeed.
NAMOKA
After generations of idolatry, the people of this village located in the highlands of Fiji were distraught by the increase of untimely deaths in their village. Many people were dying at young ages and without explanation, in some families there were only one or two members remaining. In addition there were diseases and amputations of legs of many people for unexplained reasons. As is the case in other villages, this village suffered from a lack of fish in their river and poor crops. The village was given to drinking a local intoxicating drink which contributed to their low productivity. They agreed to unify in their desperation and called for the Healing the Land Team to help them prepare themselves again to return to the Lord so that His presence might rest on them and bringing healing to their hearts, physical bodies, families and their land.

The idols are now the rocks for cooking |
After following the process and Biblical principles in God’s word and the proclamation of truth and turning from their wicked ways the people of the village destroyed the stone idol, turning it into chunks of rock for their community fire pit where they cook their food. As a result of their obedience and seeking the Lord, the Lord heard their cry, forgave their sin and has healed their land. The entire village gave their heart to Jesus, the untimely deaths have stopped, people are being healed, their land is producing good, abundant crops, the fish have been restored in the rivers and the drinking has stopped.
In response to the revival and time of repentance the people crushed the idol and cooked a great feast (including a new harvest of fish!) on top of the stones. Members of the Healing the Land Team mentioned that this village was so poor and barren that all they had to eat was leaves and puny vegetables. Now abundant fish have moved into the river nearby, new crops are growing, and the amount of children attending school has more than doubled
The new life in Namoka begins with a call to prayer and worship every morning at 5:00 a.m. when a watchman rings a bell at the church (made from the old distiller of the alcohol) which calls the entire village to prayer. Then in each small hut families can be heard praying and worshipping the Lord all around the village. They do the same thing EVERY evening at 7:00 p.m. This is a community whose God is the Lord and whose hearts have been fully set upon Him. The joy expressed from this recently redeemed village (February 2006) is overwhelming. As they dance and sing and rejoice in the goodness of the Lord you are impacted that this joy is not temporal but eternal and not the fruit of human effort but the invasion of the Kingdom of God upon the hearts and lives of desperate people.

NAVATUSILA
In the district of Navatusila located in the interior of Fiji has been tremendously blessed. From stagnant dry weather, rain falls there virtually and the crops are in abundance. There is an abundance of fruits, root crops as well as fish in the rivers. The skin diseases, which used to inflict the people, have disappeared and even the pigs that used to rummage their crops, have disappeared. This is the fruit of prayer and fasting and repentance in Fiji!
This village was so far in the interior that the people had to walk 5-6 hours to the nearest road which made getting produce to the market impossible. As a result many young people turned to growing marijuana which is lightweight and a lucrative cash crop which thrived in this out of the way village. They had been planting marijuana for a decade.
After the healing the land process and the village turned back to the Lord these young people became convicted after hearing that their land was cursed because of the wrong deeds of their forefathers. They realized that marijuana was one of the causes of this curse and as a result they came to the elders of the village and confessed and repented. They then decided to pull up all the marijuana in the village, they pulled out 1,384 plants of marijuana worth $11 million market value and burned them. That made headline news all over the Pacific because it was a huge drug “bust” except the police weren’t even involved –it was young people convicted by the Lord who voluntarily uprooted the crop!
When Government officials heard this testimony and decided to help the villagers by building both a road and a bridge to make it easier to grow produce and get them quickly to market. The government provided the finance and architect and the people provided the labor and together they built a road and bridge to open trade in and out of the village. The government also provided seedlings to grow the normal root produce. In addition however a large crop of tomatoes, chilis, and cucumbers also began growing – even though they were NOT ever planted! The tribal people say that it again was another miracle from God. The local saying is “we plant our taro (stable root crop) by day and the angles plant the tomatoes during the night”. The vegetables that they are now growing are now being sold at the market and their economy has vastly improved.
This is a powerful testimony of the government working hand-in-hand with the healing of the land in Fiji. The government officials are supportive and come in after villages who have gone through the transformation process to assist them in practical ways, believing that a community of people like this are a good investment of government resources and finance!
NUKU
Fijians report that the only stream that runs through their village has been seriously polluted for 42 years. Officials deemed it life-threatening and forbid the villagers to drink this water. The water was rust color and would cause barrenness, mental illness and even blindness to the people of Nuku. But recently, God miraculously healed the once poisonous waters and they have become a source of life and healing!
Ratu Vuniani Nakauyaca is Director of Healing the Land Ministry. He said the Healing the Land team came in, which addressed issues like idolatry and witchcraft. "We were calling the tribes, and some of the villagers here came to join us. During the course of that time, the chief in that area was installed, and he made a Covenant. He made a Covenant with the people who, during that time had given their heart to the Lord. As they followed the principles of 2 Chron. 7:14 and made the covenant to God, three days into that process, the water was healed, mysteriously, miraculously."
Vuniani also reports that the stream in Nuku is only clear and clean within the perimeter of the village itself, the water is still polluted both upstream and downstream! Confusing for unbelievers for sure!
In addition to healing the stream, the people of the community were saved, people were healed, the fish were restored and village life is vibrant – full of thanksgiving and joy!

As an illustration of the extravagance of God, scientists have recently confirmed the presence of a mountain of gold located under the village of Nuku – the largest mineral deposit in Oceania. Vuniani confirmed the signing of a contract to first move the village and then a mining company will come in and mine the gold. What an amazing update to an already glorious testimony of God’s transforming power!
